The seven phases will be presented by hands-on expert Master Growers, (See Bio’s Below) Growing consistent world-class Cannabinoid (CBD) Industrial Hemp requires both Art and Science. This approach includes an understanding of environmental controls, pest management, nutrient uptake, lighting, soil health, and watering systems and so much more.

Meet Tiffany Fess

Tiffany Fess is currently a PhD candidate at West Virginia University in Agricultural Sciences with a focus on determining nutritional and genetic differences between crops produced using organic and mineral N fertilization. She’s passionate about breeding crops for organic systems and works closely with the Student Organic Seed Symposium (SOSS), acting as a planning committee member for the 2015 meeting in Madison, WI.

Additionally, she’s a founding and sitting Board of Directors member for the newly created Society of Organic Seed Professionals (SOSP). In 2017, she and her business partners started the Green Thumb Health Co, an industrial hemp growing operation in Morgantown, WV.

Tiffany has been an advocate and contributor at all of the Hemp Geo Institute events and the industry as a whole. HGI is proud to now have Tiffany as an instructor and the entire Industrial Hemp Industry will greatly benefit!

Meet Erik Larson

Erik is an entrepreneur, inventor, and product developer with a 25-year track record of bridging gaps between business developers, engineers, and production floors. In 2015, when the state of Oregon legalized recreational cannabis, Erik saw an opportunity to offer his much needed expertise to the rapidly growing industry. Combining his experience in advanced design and engineering, he has now fully invested his skills in the rapidly evolving cannabis and hemp businesses.

Erik’s list of accomplishments in the Cannabis and Hemp industry is substantial. He has co-founded a hemp processing technology company called Aqueous Technology, LLC located in Grants Pass, Oregon. Aqueous Technology's focus is providing end-to-end integrated technology solutions from harvest to wholesale. Its mission is to guarantee consistency to the customer, profitability to the farmer, and success to the network of processors. Erik and his co-founders have developed a proprietary Aqueous Water Processing technology that never uses solvents, high heats or super critical pressures. This first-to-market process delivers results to full spectrum whole-plant concentrates, aqueous beverages, nutraceuticals and raw materials for the medical, edible and infusible markets.

Another expression of Erik’s creativity and talent is his love for music. He currently plays lead guitar in the Space Funk band LIQUID located in Ashland, Oregon. He is the co-inventor of the CymaScope, an instrument for making sound visible. Other studies and applications used in his design and business endeavors are Phiometry, BioGeometry, BioMimicry and Vortex Based Mathematics. Meet Preston Gardner

As a market research analyst contributing to New Leaf Data Services and Cannabis Benchmarks®, Preston Gardner has over seven years’ experience analyzing alternative energy, biopharmaceutical, financial services, and petroleum. Previously, Preston has worked with The Vanguard Group, Wachovia Securities / Wells Fargo Advisors, MetLife Securities, and LPL Financial, primarily in the areas of business development and financial analysis.

He has been assigned to research the cannabis-infused oil market, including products containing CBD, CBN, and THC in order to provide transparency to cultivators, dispensaries, investors, traders, and cannabis market participants through validated production cost data and standardized benchmark price assessments.

Preston received his Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, his MBA from Wake Forest University, a Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law (specializing in compliance and regulatory law), as well as a Masters in Finance from Boston College. He currently resides in Palm Springs, California with his wife and two dogs.

 

Meet Michelle Knox

 

WindSolarUSA, Inc., is a turn-key renewable energy company located in Central Illinois. Michelle began her research and development of WSUSA in September of 2008 with a goal of helping all market segments to invest in their own clean energy future while attaining a desired level of self-sufficiency.

 

Michelle received her training through the Midwest Renewable Energy Association in Custer, WI and is a Certified Site Assessor for both solar photovoltaics and solar thermal. She is currently finishing the requirements to obtain the same certification for wind and recently completed coursework to obtain an additional certificate for PV Design and Technical Sales.

 

WSUSA has developed multiple photovoltaic projects ranging in size from 1kW to 120kW as well as several wind projects. She has written and been awarded multiple grants from USDA Rural Development’s Rural Energy for American Program (REAP), Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG), Community Facilities Grant, as well as the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation for educational projects at schools.

Michelle is an advocate and promoter of renewable education and uses her knowledge, teaching and fundraising skills to further the advancement of the solar market world-wide. In addition, she served on the board of the Illinois Solar Energy Association (ISEA) from January of 2013 through December 2016.  Michelle presently serves as co-chair for ISEA’s Municipal/Cooperative Utility Committee and serves on the board of Sustainable Springfield, Inc. 

 

As a Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) Registered Training Provider, she is training students to be site assessors, designers and PV sales representatives. WSUSA is a female owned business that is registered with the State of Illinois and the Small Business Administration.

Michelle is married to her husband, Jim; she has a daughter, Mikella, and a stepson, Corey.

 

Meet Brittany Johnson

As Hemp Geo Institute’s Director of Education, Brittany manages the comprehensive curriculum development for the symposiums and Master Grow Coaching division. In addition, she leads the Institute’s Master Grower Coaching division in the development of indoor/greenhouse facility development. As head of the Mastery Grow Coaching division, she partners with growers in the development of the client’s infrastructure from prototyping layouts, lighting design, automatic water and feeding systems, environmental controls, clone selection, through to processing.

Hemp Geo Institute’s team along with Brittany’s leadership have consulted on developing fourteen (14) indoor/greenhouse grow facilities that are in full operational growing mode.

With an education and career in sustainable technologies, structures, and environments, she has a driving passion for Industrial Hemp becoming one of the most widely used renewable resources in the textile, construction, and transportation sectors.

Rick has played a role in the Legislative process in helping states become legal to grow Industrial Hemp in addition to consulting on developing the rules packages. Helping other states become legal to grow Industrial Hemp, in addition to having helped dozens of individuals navigate permit application process, is one of Rick’s way of giving back to the Hemp community.

On the personal side of life, Ricky’s DNA is founded in his love for his amazing wife (Robin) of twelve (12) years.
