Sam Bartee

Ankeny, Iowa (AgPR) March 7, 2022 — The American Society of Agricultural Consultants (ASAC) presented their 2021 ASAC Lifetime Achievement Award recently to well-deserving member Sam Bartee. This award recognizes a longtime member of the organization who has provided significant contributions to the organization as well as the agricultural industry.

An active member for more than 40 years, Sam worked most recently with Helena Agri-Enterprises, LLC. He spent his early years on a dairy farm in central New Mexico. Later he carefully "watched and learned" as his father began a successful agrichemical sales career in eastern New Mexico. Sam received his B. S. in Soil Science and M.S. in Plant Physiology from Texas Tech University. In 1982, he started an independent agrichemical project management consulting company (BAC, Inc.). In 1983 he joined ASAC. In 2006, Sam closed his one-man shop and joined Helena Agri-Enterprises, LLC. as a Division Agronomist until retiring in mid-December, 2021.

Sam says, “When I joined ASAC I felt like I'd hit the ‘motherload’ because the members had expertise in so many different specialties. Networking with other members allowed me easy access an encyclopedia of agricultural knowledge and experience.” He is a past ASAC president (2006) and has been an active member serving in various leadership capacities through the years. He also served as a regional director and committee chair. In 2013 Sam took on the challenge to edit and publish the ASAC 50th year commemorative book, “The Standard of Integrity 1963-2013.” A labor of love, this book provided a lookback at ASAC’s history, spotlighting the agricultural luminaries that were its founders and prior members.

"Working in the wonderful world of production agriculture to help feed the world is priceless!" Sam declares the Certified Agricultural Consultant (CAC). "If I'm not sure I have the correct information at hand, I have a wealth of top agricultural consultants, fellow ASAC members, with that knowledge at my fingertips."
